Feedback from secondary school English teachers all around Australia tells us that schools require teaching resources to assist students with low literacy skills to fully participate in the curriculum. Written by experienced English teachers, this series includes features that research indicates will help students to develop literacy skills, including short and achievable activity types, explicit instructions and explanations, mature-look pages and of course the opportunity to complete class work using technology.
Each of the 10 units in these books contain an example of a text type with ten associated interactive activity work sheets. These include pre and post reading tasks and work sheets that focus on developing students' phonological, visual, morphemic and etymological knowledge. The remaining work sheets explore and reinforce punctuation, grammar and writing skills.
Each of the text type examples is displayed onscreen, and are fully illustrated and set in the style that the text type would appear in everyday situations.
