The book Staying Alive deals with trust and cooperation. Nalini and Zed are stranded on an island after their plane crashes. Every day, they wait for a rescue plane to find them. While waiting, they look for food and water. Their biggest problem is how to make a fire. Their solitude is interrupted by Nu, a man who has been living on the island for years. Will he help them to be rescued, or does he want company on the island?
