Highlights is a series of original works of fiction aimed at students aged 10-15 years who are reading below level.
The
stories are specifically written for this audience, with each author
writing three stories to create a mini-series, thus encouraging the
reader to want to read more. Each mini-series is in the same genre. Highlights covers different genres, helping readers to learn the language associated with the genre.
Each
book is supported by full-colour ‘manga style’ illustrations to
reinforce and supplement the text. Every right-hand page is a
full-colour illustration to accompany the text and assist
comprehension. The stories are dynamic and use a variety of dramatic
devices, including changes of perspective and variations of cell size
and shape.
Available in audio CD to support each short novel from the Highlights set 1 are Adventure Trilogy, Mystery Trilogy and Fantasy Trilogy.
