Obesity, diabetes, eating disorders, growth, development, active lifestyles, environmental health, and mental health – are just some of the areas of concern where teachers are actively seeking accurate, accessible information.
Health and Understanding is a literacy-based series that helps teachers with these health issues during the last three years of primary school.
Predominantly nonfiction, these books explore a range of health topics that are related to, and required for, a healthy lifestyle. Sensitive health issues employ a fictional style to make the information more accessible to students.
Suitable for independent reading, guided reading and library reference.
The series consists of 3 strands that focus on different aspects of a healthy lifestyle: - Active Lifestyles – looks at the need for an active lifestyle - Growth and Development – looks at how relationships and health needs change as people grow - Personal Health Choices – looks at personal health choices students must make for themselves in order to enjoy good health.
The complete set consists of: 3 Big Books + 24 Student Books + 3 Teaching Guides + 3 Interactive Whiteboard Programs.
