| “If you ’re not going to tidy your room, Jack, I’m not doing anything for you. That includes cooking your meals,” said Mum.
“OK,” I said. “No problem! Do nothing for me. I’ll be fine on my own!”
“We’ll see,” Mum said.
Jack's bedroom is a pigsty. He likes it that way. One day Mum says that if he won't tidy his room, she's going to stop doing things for him. Mum stops cooking Jack's dinner, making his lunches, picking him up from school and washing his clothes. Jack thinks this will be no problem and he'll be find looking after himself. Gradually Jack comes to realise how much he needs his mum. |
