| Mr and Mrs Kent came home from work. Morecambe was nibbling weeds beneath the tree, but there was no sign of Wise. They went into the house. There, standing on the kitchen table, was Wise. Hanging from his mouth were Mrs Kent’s favourite curtains. Or what was left of them!
In the book The Goats, Mr and Mrs Kent are given two goats, they have no idea how their lives will change. They name the goats Morecambe and Wise and hope that they will eat the fireweed that is growing out of control on their land. The goats do eat some of the fireweed but they also eat the flowers, the herbs, the car cover and the curtains - not to mention getting up to all sorts of other mischief! |
