| Scott pulled out the spotted suit of a leopard.
“Put this on with that head, and these too.” He held up a pair of gorilla feet and hands. Once all of it was on, it fitted Todd like a second skin, like it was made just for him.
“I am Lionzilla Leopardis,” he announced. “King of all beasts.”
In the book Hear Me Roar, Todd is worried that he is going to die of boredom if he stays in his maths class. He dares his friend, Scott, to skip class with him. Mr Lewis catches them and, as punishment, tells them they are to play the part of giraffes in the school production. The boys mix and match the animal costumes and Todd ends up dressed as a 'Lionzilla Leopardis'. The only problem is that his mane gets stuck in the zipper. Since he looks and acts so real, everyone thinks there is a wild animal loose in the school. Todd's mum saves the day but not before the emergency services, the wildlife officers and the TV crews are called. |
