The back room felt like the scariest place in the world. Toby closed his eyes and hoped the Jeepers Creepers Olivia spent hours telling him about didn’t show up.
Then he heard a noise – a noise that made him stiffen with fright.
In the book The Heebie Jeebie, Olivia dares her brother, Toby, to sleep in the back room of their Gran's place. Olivia has told him about the strange and scary things that happen there and he is terrified. Toby hugs his teddy, Batbat, but it doesn't help. When he hears noises under the bed, he is shocked to discover that they are made by Spook and Lurk, part of the Night Beastie Security Patrol. Spook and Lurk explain that it is their job to keep the night safe and that they are looking for a Heebie Jeebie. Toby suggests they chat to Olivia, who immediately regrets making up stories to scare her brother. |
