Dear Teacher,

The Instant Lessons range of titles continues to go from strength to strength in 2008 with new titles that integrate our highly popular photocopiable format with easy-to-use tools that makes using technology in your classroom a breeze.

Preview the new Geography PowerPoint series of five titles that contain full-colour slides and student work sheets, or investigate difficult to understand science concepts with the popular theme of sport, using the Science Through Sport series interactive tools.

Several new titles this year will also include a CD-ROM with PDF versions of the complete book with the title. Ensuring that storing and accessing your photocopiable resources is a time-efficient and easy process.

Wishing you all a successful and satisfying teaching year!

What are ‘Instant Lessons’?

They are photocopiable books containing 48 pages of time-saving and meaningful, curriculum-focused activities.

The activities are useful:

• as pre-prepared tasks to complement your lessons

• for homework or revision

• as extension work for capable students

• as preparation for assessment

• when a regular teacher is absent.

The books are written and reviewed by qualified and practising teachers, and there are multiple books in a series to ensure comprehensive coverage of topics.

What are the teaching benefits of using ‘Instant Lessons’?

• They save lesson preparation time.

• They contain practical, creative, versatile and challenging tasks.

• They have fresh approaches to common topics.

• They are effective in targeting student weaknesses.

• They consolidate students’ knowledge of a topic.

• Most activities are self-contained and require no additional resources.

• The activities are suitable for individual or group work.

Why are ‘Instant Lessons’ so good?

• Student knowledge is tested and extended in a range of challenging ways – through multiple choice and short answers, cloze activities, tables, diagrams, maps, concept maps and research tasks.

• Real-world examples, statistics and case studies assist students in exploring topics.

• Clear diagrams help students to visualise and understand topics more readily.

• Practical activities and experiments include classroom management suggestions, safety warnings and notes for teachers.

• Selected answers are included to make marking more time-efficient.
